Who Prayed Me Out of Quarantine bc THANK YOU

¿Quiubio? ¿Cómo están?

This was a LOOOOONG week, but! I wasn't in quarantine all week!! Just 5 days of full quarantine, so that was good!! This week Hermana Saggeth and I had some of the coolest experiences HOLY COW!! Seriously so cool. I am mentally, emotionally, and physically exhausted jaja!

The fun stuff: we had a really cool activity in the Progreso Ward: dances, food, confetti! We ate lots of pupusas this week, and had a little scare one morning when I went to the bathroom and found a RAT scurrying around my feet. My vocal cords took about 3 days to fully recover from screaming ja ja :) an adventure.

The spiritual stuff: We have felt inspired to talk about the Restoration and start doing Come Follow Me with the families in our wards. This week we started by focusing on the Restoration, every lesson that we have had has been SO POWERFUL.

Lesson after lesson I found that the Restoration is a key part of how we find direction in our lives. Without the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ we don't have the complete picture or the fullness of the Gospel. This testimony has given me direction in my life. I have felt comfort through the knowledge that my Heavenly Father knows me, loves me, and has prepared a way for me to get back to Him. And He speaks through a living prophet in OUR DAY! It was so cool to hear the testimonies of the members we visited and a few were brought to tears. The Spirit definitely testified to me that this is true.

I just want to finish with a scripture from Doctrine and Covenants that I read this past week that motivated me. The Savior said,

"Wherefore, fear not even unto death; for in this world your joy is not full, but in me your joy is full" Doctrine and Covenants 101:36

Estoy Pensando en la Inmortalidad del Cangrejo

Hola buenas!!

Cómo estamos?? Bienvenidos al día número 3 de cuarentena, somos sus presentadoras Hermana Wagner y Hermana Saggeth!!

Yep you read that right (or maybe had the help of Google Translate ;)) we are in quarentine chicos!! 

First of all, this week was actually really good! We had some really cool lessons with our friends and we got to meet some really cool members in our areas! 

The highlights: 

- I hit TWO months in El Salvador!

- We had a Noche de Hogar (Family Home Evening) with our friend Wendy about the Plan of Salvation and it went really well, she is SO smart!

- We went up a different hill this week and visited these two sisters and their 4 kids... it was like herding cats but it was a fun time jajaja

- I met this older couple in our ward, los Ortez. We started our visit as strangers and ended with them feeding us 4 pieces of pan dulce each with hot chocolate while we watched videos of their wedding party a year ago jaja i LOVE them!!

- It was Hermana Saggeth's birthday!! 21 years young ;)

For her birthday the hermana leaders came and visited us. Most areas are super far from eachother so to get from place to place we use members who are taxi drivers... long story short their taxi, Hermano Luna (a homie actually he's awesome) tested positive for COVID later that day, and that's how half the mission got put in a 10 quarentine jajaja!

And then I got kinda sick, but we're okay! Sigo viva :) This week will be interesante to learn how to work virtually... 

Algo chivo!!

In my study I was reading in Mosiah 2 and i LOVE verse 9. I've always thought of it as a "how to prepare to recieve revelation" especially for General Conference or our own personal studies of the scriptures. The scripture says,

"Hearken unto me, and open your ears that ye may hear, and your hearts that ye may understand, and your minds that the mysteries of God may be unfolded to your view." 

God asks us to listen with our ears, our hearts, and our minds... kinda sounds like with all our "heart, might, mind, and strength" (Doctrine and Covenants 4:2)... when we sacrifice a little and humble ourselves we can receive inspiration from our Heavenly Father for our lives!! 

General Conference is pretty close, and I am SO excited!! I invite each of you to think and pray about a question or questions to prepare to bring to General Conference, or even for your personal studies of the scriptures. As we prepare ourselves and set aside time for God He promsies us that His "mysteries...may be unfolded to your view".

I know my Savior lives and love me. I know I have a Heavenly Father who listens and is aware of me. I have felt Their love and guidence this week. I know They love you too! Keep going! You've got this! They're with you 100%!!

Juayua (it's pronounced like why-you-a lol)

Hola hola!!

WOW!! This week was so good!!! I love my new area, my two wards, and my new companion!!! This week a few of the memorable things that happened were that I got bit by a turtle, I climbed a hill that legitimately is on a 70 degree angle (10 min. is our record time), I got eaten by mosquitos, we saw the national bird of El Sal (uber rare), found a bunch of spiders the size of the palm of my hand chilling above our friends house and I cooked a fish!!

In Juayua we have two wards; Juayua and Progreso. Where we live it's cool and rainy, a total tourist town, shops, two volcanoes in the distance, tini moto taxis cruising around, a square by the cathedral (which has bells that ring all the time :)) I basically feel like I'm in a movie jaja! The wards here are awesome!! I love the members. Yesterday the Mendez family (they own a bakery) taught me and my companion how to make pizza! Super rico!! I also met this little girl named Fernanda, she decided that we are twins and went around telling everyone jaja!

Hermana Saggeth is my new companion and (crazy!) she's actually the missionary I replaced in my old area Palmar! But we get along so well. Like she's my best friend jaja! We were dying laughing last night and we talk all the time, hopefully my spanish is getting better because of her :D its really good though because it forces me to talk and to learn. But seriously we work so well together, it feels awesome to have the spirit and work hard together. 

I'm so happy to be here!!!

Something kind of funny that happened was that the bishop in Juayua yesterday stood up in church and announced that I would give my testimony. Hello jaja! But I went up and bore my testimony about the Savior about what I know the Savior has done for me. In Sunday School we read a talk from General Conference about what the Savior has done for us by President Oaks. It was really powerful to read the talk. One quote that President Oaks said that I really liked says, 

"Because He loves us, He challenges us to focus on Him instead of the things of this mortal world. In His great sermon on the bread of life, Jesus taught that we should not be among those who are most attracted to the things of the world—the things that sustain life on earth but give no nourishment toward eternal life. As Jesus invited us again and again and again, Follow me."

When we think about it, everything the Savior has done/does for us is out of love. All that is asked of us is for us to love Him and act on that love to follow Him. When our daily motivation to choose the right is motivated by love we won't need to question what the Lord has asked of us because we trust Him and see what He has done for us to receive all of His choicest blessings.

Martínez Has a Crush on the Dentist's Assistant

Hola!! Qué onda mis amigos??

Pues lo siento por no escribir la semana pasada jaja perooo noticias:

- Our friend Eunice finally came to church!! It was super cool and we had a really awesome activity. She said she loved the unity of our ward, we have an amazing ward!

- We had lots of rainstorms and thunderstorms, they make us go RUNNING afuera to get our clothes hanging out on the line jaja but i LOVE the thunderstorms

- We went to the dentist for López because her molar is wreaked, which means she was out for a few days... i learned out to make a mediocre almuerzo because López normally cooks jaja

- We went out knocking with Anita and Irwing (Chomin), youth in our ward. While we were walking a dog started barking and freaked out Chowmin, and he just about jumped into my arms Scooby Doo/Shaggy style jaja!

The biggest news is that I'M MOVING!! I move today to Juayua!! I'm getting a new companion and I'm leaving my niña Martínez y Lópecita. :( I'm sad to leave Palmar because I LOVE THIS WARD, and I'm going to miss my companions so much!! But this feels right and I'm exciting!! Look it up, it's beautiful!! I hear there's a huge yellow striped boa constrictor!!

Yesterday was fast and testimony meeting and one of the littles in my ward named Enrique ran up with his papí and in his short testimony he said, "Yo sé que Dios vive". I don't know why but yesterday that hit me and I felt the spirit so strong. We know God lives, He guides this church. He loves, He listens, and responds. When we trust in Him and follow the example of the Savior we are learn, are strengthened, and progress. We talked about temples in Sunday School and I loved that we have to prepare OUR temple, ourselves, by following the pattern of the life of Christ. When we do this we can recieve everything that our living and loving God has prepared for us. I promise that when invite Him into our lives He will answer and guide us. Seek Him!!! <333
