My week in haikus:

My comps stepped in poop

So we were quite late that day

Ha ha it smelt bad.

We had some really cool lessons this week and some cool experiences. We invited Carole to pray about if she should be baptized and if what we are teaching is true. During our lesson the spirit was so strong and we said, "Carole how do you feel?" And she said "I feel like I'm gonna say that prayer". Keep praying for Carole!!

One thing I was thinking a lot about this week was "encountering God" in our everyday life, or using our spiritual eyes to see how He is deeply involved in our lives. Each day we make choices that spiritually bring us closer or take us farther away from Him. Sometimes it's too steps forward and one step back but God cares more about our direction then how fast we go. So, like President Nelson says, we can start today. Little by little. :))

Hola! Qué onda?

I'm gonna just drop the highlights sorry I have -12 desire to write, but this week was crazy!

- we went to the Trinidad state beach for finding this week and for today, we went on a beach hike and got some yummy clam chowder!

- we did this gnarly service project on Saturday. One of the members up there just moved into a house where the previous owners were pretty much hoarders... but they barried everything in their backyard...and so we just purged the entire place, it was so gross haha I'm pretty sure I found some new species of bugs in there that have yet to be discovered, along with a 12 pack of glue, yard, old books, dishware, and bedding. Full on treasure hunt haha it was actually why fun :))

- I gotta watch the end of the Jazz and Lakers game at the house of one of the guys we were teaching, we turned it off right as they tied at the end!! Who won???!

- also we saw some dogs driving a car

Lots of stuff went down and it was kind of exhausting but through it all I've been so happy! I love being a missionary! There's something good in every day, always a reason to smile. God is very involved in the little day to day things of our lives if we look.

Something cool this week was that a few of our friends came to church! One of my friends brought HIS friends (a family of 4) to church!! It was so cool! When there is something that brings us joy people want to share it. Something I love about church is that the spirit tells each person what they need to hear :) so if we listen God will guide us.

Chicken Poop on My Chacos

Hola!! Qué onda??

This week was baller :)) I definitely broke my brain a few days (like 4/7) from working. Also my companions were kinda dying of headaches, upset stomachs, and such. Someone even fainted. Haha. 

5 Moderately Cool Things I did:

- I knocked on the door of a house that looks like it's from The Series of Unfortunate Events... have not gone in yet... more updates to follow

- I went on exchanges with the other sisters and I got to hang out in Eureka for a day with Sister Owen and Sister Ridley. Such a good time!!

- I was a chicken mom for a day. We were helping out our neighbors :)

- I got to go up to Trinidad (we actually go up there kind of a lot but I don't know if I've actually ever mentioned it but its BEAUTIFUL up there right on the coast)

- I had a Mediterranean picnic with Sister Hampton and Sister Riley on Saturday and that was really fun :))

There were LOTS of cool miracles this week, the Lord definitely leads us to the people who need us, and if we let Him, He can guide us in our words, and actions too.

Three people we are teaching are doing really awesome! They are my favorites! It has been really cool to watch them feel the pull of the gospel. They are drawn to it and I love seeing them light up as they learn and have spiritual experiences that strengthen their faith in Christ. ♡

It reminds me of a scripture from President Uchtdorf's talk (one of my absolute favs, would recommend) "God among us". The scripture is in Doctrine and Covenants 50 verse 24.

"That which is of God is light; and he that receiveth light, and continueth in God, receiveth more light; and that light groweth brighter and brighter until the perfect day."

Little by little, poco a poquito, as we learn about the gospel it sheds more and more light on the purposes of life and the eternal plan that God has for us. When we seek and act God will give us more light, and through the power of the Holy Ghost we can know that it is true.

Los quiero mucho a todos y espero que tengan una linda semana. Poco a poquito es la manera en que crecemos y si hacemos lo bueno, entonces podemos recoger más luz. :))

Hoppy Easter!!

¡Muy buenos días amigos y familia!

¡¡Estoy súper feliz porque la conferencia fue TAN buena!!

Okay first things first, if you didn't watch Conference you gotta. It was so amazing to be able to listen to the Prophet and the leaders of the church and I felt the spirit tan fuerte my friends! When we "diligently seek", or we could say diligently listen to Conference, we "shall find; and the mysteries of God shall be unfolded unto [us]" (1 Nefi 10:19)

This week we made eggs for Easter with a family in the ward and their 4 cute cute kids! We drew, dipped, dyed, and colored at least 30 eggs and I got to wear one of their XXXXL painting shirts :) on Saturday I made French toast for all the missionaries in my district, there's about 18 of us, and I was flipping and dipping non-stop! So basically I felt like such a mom this conference, haha!

One thing I love about Easter (besides eating a gallon of chocolate Cadbury eggs) is the plastic eggs. They are so cute, whattheheck, I love the colors and they bring back such good memories... but also they serve as a good reminder to me. They remind me of the true meaning of Easter. Just like the borrowed tomb, they are empty. It reminds me that Christ rose again. Because He was resurrected all mankind will be resurrected and live again! Because of Him there is always someone who knows and is there for us. I'm pretty weak but if I yoke myself to Him, or if I join His team, then He will pull my load. I loved being able to focus more on my Savior this week and the hope and comfort He brings.

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." (Matt 11:28-30)

I've been thinking a lot about how I can build my relationship with my Savior and not just KNOW about Him but come to KNOW Him.
