Ahhhhhhh!

Hey also I just found out I'm going to El Salvador on the 15th of July!!!!!!

I Think I'm Getting Kinda Tan

¡Hola hola! ¿Qué está pasando?
5 Fun(ny) Things:
- I tried figs for the first time! Very good :))
- an old lady from Spain told me that I look like a "beautiful Jewish girl" jaja
- I got to see my old companion Hna. Giles!!
- we threw a birthday party for one of our friends that we are teaching!!
- Hna. Raezer made me laugh so hard that I leaned out the window and spit out my water all over the side of the car while we were driving XD
This week we did a BUNCH of service, which was awesome! It is so amazing to see how much you can lift someone by serving them and showing genuine love and kindness. We did everything from making dinner, to putting away clothes, to organizing a garage, to pruning bushes.
It makes me think of one of my favorite scriptures, and it's a classic, but it's Mosiah 2:17. "And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God."
This week we also had our Zone Conference and a huge theme that was talked about was recommitting ourselves to the Lord's work. One of the invitations they gave was to re-write our acceptance letter to our mission call! It was a really special experience to be able to re-write, with what I know and feel now, why I want to be on a mission. I LOVE MY MISSION. It's really hard, and it's the best. That is because I get to focus on serving others (serving God) and I have the opportunity to be an instrument in His hands and to lift others.
So if you're thinking about serving a mission, just do it. D&C 4:3 :)
¡Les quiero un montón! ¡Qué tengan una buena semana y qué les vayan bien!

I Might Pass Away From Heat Stroke

Qué tal mis amigos?
So super sad. I got transfered out of McKinleyville. What?! Crazy times. Me and Hermana Hampton had to wake up at 4:30 to get to the office building on time to go to Fairfield. Bye Hampy! Climate did a 180 so bye bye to my coat!
This past week was sick though! We had some awesome lessons and so many miracles!! And I have two new companions!!
Hermana Raezer: she's super cool, looks like the mermaid from Aquamarine haha, her original assignment is Uruguay!
Sister Sampson: she's also super cool, an actual CHEF! The first 6 months of her mission she served in New York at the Church History Sites, she's super cool!
We are serving in an English ward but we are also apart of the Hmong branch!! It's the best thing!!! I'm loving it here :))
A scripture story that really stood out to me this week was the parable of the sower in chapter 4 of Mark. The verse that stood out to me was verses 16 and 17. It's talking about the seed of the gospel and in this analogy we are the ground. It made me reflect a lot on questions like "what kind of ground am I"  and "what am I doing to become 'good ground'"? I liked verses 16 and 17 because it talks about the example of being planted on stony ground.
It says, "And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; And have NO ROOT in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended."
I think it's important to think about where we are with our foundation. How deep are your roots?
I love you all and I hope you all have a great week!

I'm One Year!

HooOooola!
Okay coolest thing! We had some HUGE miracles this weekend! We had a lesson with our friend Allen again!! And we got to have TWO lessons with our friend Marco!! Marco only speaks Spanish so it's just me teaching (which is a huge miracle in itself because I'm in an english area!). I was super nervous about it in the beginning of the transfer but it's been so cool to see the Lord work through me. The gift of tongues is real and the gospel is for every person regardless of the language they speak!!
One scripture that really stuck out to me this week was 2 Nephi 31:3. It says, "For my soul delighteth in plainness; for after this manner doth the Lord God work among the children of men. For the Lord God giveth light unto the understanding; for he speaketh unto men according to their language, unto their understanding."
Each person is different, and God knows that. I love this scripture because it teaches us that no matter who we are or where we are at spiritually God knows us perfectly and knows how to speak to each of us, His children. That means that if we seek for understanding with real intent it will be given unto us in a way we can understand.
I love that promise and it gives me so much peace ♡
This last bit has been crazy but super good, sorry this email is kind of all over the place haha love you all though, hope you have a great week!
